Travel first aid kit

There is no standard first aid kit. Always ask your doctor for advice. They will be able to prescribe medicinal products that are appropriate for your state of health and destination.

We can recommend a number of basic products, but please bear in mind that this list is not exhaustive.

Basic medication

  • Pain and fever medication.
  • Diarrhoea medication.
  • Anti-sickness (travel sickness) medication.
  • Anti-allergy medication.

  • Thermometer.
  • Tweezers (for removing splinters).
  • Sterile compresses and wound closure strips.
  • Plasters.
  • Antiseptics for disinfecting wounds.
  • Aqueous-alcoholic solution for sanitising hands.
  • Saline solution for cleaning the nose and eyes.
  • Sunscreen.
  • Mosquito repellent.
  • Condoms.

If you have a chronic illness

If you suffer from a chronic illness, remember to take a sufficient quantity of your usual medication.

Transport of narcotics and psychotropic substances for the purpose of medical treatment

This authorisation is issued in the form of a certificate by the Health Directorate, upon application by a patient who holds a medical prescription indicating the dose and the duration of the treatment.

Antibiotics

Depending on the risk of infection, your doctor may prescribe an antibiotic treatment to take with you.
