Eating in hot weather
It is important to store fresh food at the right temperature (e.g. in a cellar or a fridge). Foods such as fruit will go off more quickly at higher temperatures. Foods that can quickly become contaminated with bacteria, such as meat, fish, egg products, dairy products and certain fruit and vegetables, should be kept in the fridge. When transporting them, it is important not to break the cold chain, which could encourage the proliferation of microbes.
See the ALVA website for further information.
