Breastfeeding and working

Breastfeeding at work is a recognised right supported by recommendations from the World Health Organisation (WHO). Employers are obliged to promote a harmonious balance between work and breastfeeding.

Creating a breastfeeding-friendly environment in the workplace has many advantages:

  • Breastfeeding women feel integrated and valued, which strengthens their commitment and satisfaction at work, as well as that of their colleagues.
  • Support from employers makes it easier for women to return to work after maternity leave, thereby contributing to better reintegration and higher productivity.
