Zero alcohol. 100 % you!

This year, the World Health Organization (WHO) is calling on Europe to rethink the role that alcohol plays in society, and is urging Europeans to reflect on their personal and societal relationship with alcohol. According to the WHO, one in 11 deaths in Europe can be attributed to alcohol, and less than 50 % of the population is aware that alcohol can cause cancer.

It is around this theme that the Ministry of Health and Social Security has crafted the key messages for its 2024 campaign: rethink the role of alcohol in daily life, celebrations and traditions. The aim is to raise public awareness of the health risks and hidden dangers of alcohol consumption, while at the same time promoting healthier options.

The campaign's primary objective is to 'denormalise' alcohol consumption. Choosing not to drink should be the norm. The Ministry of Health and Social Security is seeking to raise public awareness of the importance of examining our relationship with alcohol and the role it plays in society.
