A respiratory infection is anything but trendy
New campaign to raise public awareness of respiratory tract infections: 'A respiratory infection is anything but trendy'
Starting on 21 October, the Health Directorate (Direction de la santé) will be running a new communication campaign aimed at combating the spread of respiratory tract infections. The purpose of the campaign is to heighten public awareness of the importance of adopting protective measures to prevent the spread of viruses, and to inform the population about the immunisation options that are available to protect against seasonal infections.
To that end, the Ministry of Health and Social Security intends to produce a range of public communication media resources, including:
- bus shelter posters;
- radio ads;
- digital communications in cinemas;
- social media communications, and much more.
'Simple yet effective habits'
To prevent the spread of these infections, you need to prioritise a few simple habits:
- wash your hands regularly;
- ventilate enclosed spaces;
- limit close contact with others; or
- wear a mask if you are ill, or if you are in contact with anyone vulnerable.
