6th National Hand Hygiene Campaign
To mark World Hand Hygiene Day, which takes place on 5 May 2019, the Ministry of Health is joining forces with the Ministry of Family Affairs, Integration and the Greater Region to launch a new information and awareness campaign highlighting the fact that hand hygiene is a key method in combating antibiotic resistance.
The inappropriate use of antibiotics helps resistant bacteria to spread. Antibiotics then stop working properly and become ineffective. By washing our hands, we can reduce the number of infections, thereby using fewer antibiotics and providing effective protection against antimicrobial resistance.
