Yes, I said NO

Alongside supporting the World Health Organization (WHO) campaign for 31 May 2013, the Luxembourg Ministry of Health is seeking to reach out to young people.

It is when young people try their first cigarettes that we must take action, make them rethink and discourage them from taking up smoking. This is the aim of this new campaign: 'I said NO and I'm free', which emphasises that tobacco is highly addictive.

Yes, I said No! I’m tobacco free

A new media campaign aimed at young people (18-24 years of age) is being launched today. It is called 'Yes, I said no! I’m tobacco-free'. Choosing not to take up smoking is the best decision you can make in terms of keeping your freedom! The campaign includes the following:

  • a bus shelter poster campaign in the JCDecaux network with the 2 visuals 'Yes, I said No' and 'I’m good, I’m free';
  • Din A2 posters with 2 visuals (girl and boy; Yes, I said No; I'm good, I'm free) for distribution in secondary schools, youth centres, youth clubs and associations, communes and doctors' surgeries, etc.;
  • post cards and beer mats for distribution in bars, cafés, trendy restaurants, fast food outlets and fitness studios;
  • a radio ad that will be broadcast on Eldoradio;
  • a cinema ad will be shown in the Utopolis cinema, as well as on giant screens at Rives de Clausen as high school leavers celebrate the completion of their studies on 7 June;
  • a press kit (which can be downloaded below), press releases and articles in various newspapers with a younger audience (Essentiel, Nightlife, Graffiti, etc.);
  • the launch of the 'Join the Movement and Create your T-shirt' competition on the new, purpose-built website 'yesisaidno.lu' and the 'Healthy & Friends' Facebook page. Participants in the competition will be able to design their own T-shirt online. A public vote and a panel of judges will select the 2 best T-shirts, which will then be produced and sold as special limited editions in Extrabold after the competition.
  • A street marketing campaign involving young people is planned for the school holidays.
