Federation of Luxembourg Hospitals

The Federation of Luxembourg Hospitals (Fédération des hôpitaux luxembourgeois - FHL) – formerly Entente des hôpitaux luxembourgeois – is an associative body representing institutions in the acute healthcare sector (hospitals and clinics) and certain long-stay healthcare institutions.

The association was formed as a grouping of hospitals in Luxembourg, to defend their professional interests and improve the services provided by hospitals in the interest of patients' welfare.

To achieve its purpose, as set out above, the association actively seeks to:

• maintain close contact with its members, support them in their dealings with public authorities and third parties, and facilitate the amicable resolution of any disputes that may arise between members themselves, or between its members and third parties; represent its members in negotiations with social security agencies on the various collective agreements provided for by law, and serve as an intermediary in matters of principle between its members and public authorities and social security agencies;
• serve the common interests and the specific needs of its members in compliance with the legal and regulatory provisions that apply in matters regarding public health; to that end, the Federation of Luxembourg Hospitals negotiates financing agreements with the National Health Fund (Caisse nationale de santé - CNS) and other relevant institutions, and is committed to securing the harmonisation of rates for identical services;
• establish and develop relations with foreign hospital associations, and join international organisations that share the same goals.
