No, narcotic drugs may only be prescribed on a secure prescription issued from a prescription pad, in accordance with the Grand Ducal Regulation of 18 January 2005 determining the model of the prescription pad provided for in Article 30-1 of the amended law of 19 February 1973 on the sale of medicinal substances and the fight against drug addiction.

Prescriptions issued from a prescription pad are valid for 21 days from the date of prescription.
The exception is prescriptions for medicinal cannabis, which are valid for 60 days from the date of prescription.

Like any prescription, a prescription issued from a prescription pad must identify the patient (surname, first name, registration number, address) and the prescriber (surname, address, doctor code, stamp and signature). Unlike conventional prescriptions, the dosage must be written out in full on secure prescriptions, and any overlapping of prescriptions is strictly prohibited.
