Seniors (aged 65 and over)
General recommendations
Staying healthy and fit after the age of 65 also involves vaccination. Many infectious diseases can cause complications that become more serious with age or if you have chronic conditions. It is therefore essential to protect yourself by following the vaccination recommendations.
Invasive pneumococcal infections
- Vaccination recommended for persons aged 65 and over.
Shingles
- Vaccination recommended for all persons aged 65 and over.
Bronchiolitis/RSV infections
- Vaccination is recommended on an individual basis for people aged 75 and over, especially patients in residential care facilities for the elderly, as well as for people aged 65 and over with at least one comorbidity increasing the risk of a severe form of RSV infection (such as chronic respiratory diseases).
Seasonal influenza
- Annual vaccination recommendation for all persons aged 65 and over. It is recommended that high-dose (HD) or adjuvanted (ADJ) influenza vaccines be administered.
COVID-19
- Annual vaccination recommendation for all persons aged 65 and over.
