Training

Legislative framework

Pursuant to the Law of 28 May 2019 on radiation protection, any establishment that holds and uses sources of ionising radiation must appoint a radiation protection officer. The radiation protection training of the person or persons concerned must be documented, and the level of training must be aligned with the level of radiological risk at the establishment.

Training

Approved training organisations offer training courses, particularly for radiation protection officers in establishments with a low level of radiological risk.

The areas covered by this training are:

  1. an introduction to radiation physics,
  2. aspects of radiation protection in the workplace,
  3. current legislation.

These training sessions are also for people who have already completed in-depth training abroad but want to gain a better understanding of the specific situation in Luxembourg. Other persons with an interest in the training may also sign up to attend.
