Permit conditions

Authorisation may be subject to certain permit conditions:

  1. responsibilities;*
  2. minimum level of staff training;*
  3. minimum performance criteria applicable to the source, its containment and other equipment and its use;*
  4. requirements for emergency procedures and communications;*
  5. work procedures to be followed;*
  6. maintenance of equipment, sources and their containers;*
  7. proper management of disused sources and radioactive waste, including agreements on the transfer, where appropriate, of such sources to a manufacturer, supplier, other licenced establishment or waste storage or disposal facility;*
  8. dose restrictions;
  9. specific operational provisions to reduce exposure for workers, patients and the public, and to ensure the physical protection of equipment;
  10. the procedures for monitoring or assessing gaseous and liquid radioactive discharges into the environment and the communication of results to the Health Directorate;
  11. restrictions on where sources may be used;
  12. quality assurance measures to be taken;
  13. implementation of an audit system;
  14. measures to be taken if activity is terminated.
