Breast cancer: Mammogram Programme
In Luxembourg, all women aged 45–74 years old who reside in Luxembourg and are registered with the National Health Fund (Caisse nationale de santé - CNS) are invited to have a mammogram every two years.
Mammography is the only recommended method for breast cancer screening, as it can detect a wide range of small-size cancers with minimum inconvenience.
As a healthcare stakeholder, you are in direct contact with the general population, and you play a leading role in breast-cancer screening and its promotion.
Below you will find a number of documents on the Mammogram Programme that you may find useful.

How to use the E20 form
If the mammogram is abnormal, the physician will receive a description of the detected anomalies, along with a document called an 'E20 form (Pdf, 581 Kb)' (Bon E20).
What is the E20 form used for?
The 'E20 form' is a means for you to share your patient's screening-related information with us, and vice versa.
It serves as proof for the coverage of your consultation fees.
When to send the E20 form to the Coordination Centre: Once you have filled in the E20 form (when you see your patient), it should be sent to the Coordination Centre as quickly as possible, as the information it contains will determine what follow-up will be given to your patient.
The E20 form is made up of two parts, and the entire document should be sent to the Coordination Centre.
Parts of the form
Part intended for the CNS (Partie destinée à la CNS)
The Coordination Centre will forward this part to the CNS. It serves as proof that the service was provided. It must include the date of the patient's visit, and must be signed by both the (insured) patient and the physician.
Part intended for the Coordination Centre (Partie destinée au Centre de Coordination)
It is the easiest way for you to share information with us, and vice versa.
How to fill in the E20 form
- Clinical examination performed by you (Examen clinique effectué par vous)
You will need to specify the date of the examination, which breast was examined (L or R), and the results of the examination. You can also use the diagram to better document your examination. - Follow-up centre or physician (Centre ou médecin qui effectuera la mise au point)
Check this box to let us know that you are referring your patient to a centre or a colleague. If this box is checked, we will know who to contact for the results of the follow-up. - Mammogram results (Résultat de l’échographie)
If you performed the mammogram yourself, specify the date and the result for the left or right breast. You can use the diagram to share your findings more accurately. The result must be specified as a BI-RADS category. - Signature and stamp
