Medicinal cannabis

In accordance with the Law of 20 July 2018, the prescription, dispensation and possession of medicinal cannabis are legally regulated in Luxembourg, and restricted to a medical setting.

In February 2019, a medicinal cannabis access programme was implemented in Luxembourg, and a multi-disciplinary scientific committee was set up oversee this pilot project. To promote the proper use of medicinal cannabis, the scientific committee, working in conjunction with the Division of Pharmacy and Medicines, has produced a 'Practical guide to prescribing medicinal cannabis in Luxembourg' for healthcare professionals.
