Children

Any minor or young person under the age of 30, residing in Luxembourg and without personal affiliation, may benefit from co-insurance as a dependent of a parent affiliated with health and maternity insurance.

For children and young people under the age of 18, all healthcare costs are covered in full by health and maternity insurance, with no personal contribution required.

It is recommended that you choose a paediatrician and/or general practitioner as your first point of contact in the event of your child falling ill. This professional will provide the main follow-up care and refer you to a specialist if necessary.

Paediatric medical centres provide a replacement service for paediatricians for night-time, weekend and public holiday care.

In case of emergency, the paediatric emergency department located within the Kannerklinik at the Centre hospitalier de Luxembourg (CHL) is available.
