Benefits of vaccination
Vaccination is one of the greatest successes in the area of disease prevention! The WHO (World Health Organization) estimates that 2 to 3 million lives are saved annually as a result of vaccination.
Vaccinations protect children and adults against many infectious diseases that can have serious, and sometimes irreversible, consequences for our health, and that can even be fatal.
Thanks to the routine vaccination of infants and young children, numerous diseases for which vaccination is recommended, such as diphtheria and polio, have been eradicated from our country.
As a result, hardly anyone remembers these diseases or the serious and sometimes fatal consequences they can have.
To prevent them from re-emerging, it is essential that we continue to vaccinate all infants and young children, in accordance with the recommendations of the national vaccination schedule.
Maintaining a high level of vaccine coverage is also important to prevent the spread of infectious diseases imported from other countries where these diseases have not yet been eradicated.
