Health education

Individual health education

During routine medical examinations or health check-up, pupils is also given practical, personalised advice to help them take better care of their health. This advice is adapted to pupils' specific needs, depending on their health-related issues or pathologies.

Collective health education

Posters, leaflets or brochures that provide essential information on health and well-being are made available to pupils in their school medical officer's office.

These documents can be consulted during routine medical examinations and health check-ups. Additional explanations are given to pupils by healthcare professionals or school doctors.

School medical and social support teams are involved in health education and promotion actions in schools to help children adopt healthy behaviours.

Health education covers various topics, such as a healthy diet, starting the day with a healthy breakfast, choosing the right snacks, respecting your body, good hygiene, sexuality, risky behaviours, smoking, alcohol and drugs, etc.

Pupils can get more information on health from the Department for School Medicine (Division de la médecine scolaire).
