BLUE MARCH: Colorectal Cancer Awareness and Screening Month
To mark Blue March, the month dedicated to colorectal cancer prevention and screening, the Ministry of Health and Social Security will be continuing its drive to raise awareness of colorectal cancer, and will be renewing its 'Se faire dépister, c'est mettre toutes les chances de son côté' campaign (Get screened and stack the odds in your favour).
Prevention and awareness actions planned for Blue March 2025
Posters and visual media
Posters will be put up in pharmacies and doctors' surgeries to raise public awareness of colorectal cancer screening.
Social media campaign
Explanatory videos and testimonials will be broadcast on the Ministry of Health and Social Security's social media pages to inform the public and raise their awareness of the importance of screening. A new video tutorial, providing a simple, reassuring explanation on how to use the FIT test, will also be published, with a view to allaying any apprehensions the public may have about using the test.
Interaction with citizens
During Blue March, information points will be set up in various locations to provide anyone interested in screening with practical information and advice. Our teams will be handing out flyers and explaining everything there is to know about colorectal cancer screening. They will provide information on the importance of screening, how the screening programme works and its benefits in terms of prevention and early treatment. To make the awareness campaign more interactive and engaging, games will be organised, with a chance for participants to win a range of goodies.
