Creative and participatory campaign against sexually transmitted infections

To counter the increase in the number of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) in Europe, prevention and screening campaigns are being rolled out.

From 12 May to 15 June, on the initiative of the National Agency for Youth Information (Agence nationale pour l’information des jeunes - ANIJ), and in close collaboration with the Health Directorate (Direction de la santé), a nationwide campaign aimed at young people aged 15–25 is being organised to educate them about, heighten their awareness of and encourage them to engage in responsible sexual behaviours.

To tackle the increase in the number of infections, the Health Directorate and the ANIJ will be running a creative, hybrid campaign designed specifically with young people in mind. Their active involvement throughout the development of the campaign was a crucial factor in ensuring an authentic approach tailored to their reality. The campaign was devised in close collaboration with young people, and with partners that work with this population – including the CESAS, Family Planning services, 4motion's SaferSex.lu project and the Luxembourg Red Cross's HIV-Berodung service – and features a combination of initiatives, online and on the ground, from 12 May to 15 June 2025, including:

  • videos, podcasts, Q&A sessions, and other content published on social media platforms and on the www.jugendinfo.lu website;
  • posters and flyers, to be distributed in high schools, youth centres and facilities for young people;
  • workshops, plus an event specifically intended for young people, to be held at Atmos bar on 24 May. The event, which will be put together by young people and open to the public, will feature a combination of creative performances and interactions on the theme of sexual health.
