Inappropriate use of antibiotics
Antibiotic resistance
With a view to raising awareness among the general public of the phenomenon of antibiotic resistance, we will be launching a new multimedia campaign called 'The Inappropriate Use of Antibiotics' to coincide with European Antibiotic Awareness Day.
Distribution of campaign materials
In terms of direct communication, posters and leaflets will be widely distributed among doctors, pharmacists, hospitals, medical centres and the National Health Fund (Caisse nationale de santé - CNS).
Two notepads have been produced for GP practices and pharmacies: 'Tips for the proper use of prescribed antibiotics' and 'Tips for a quick recovery from a viral infection (cold, flu, etc.)'. GPs will easily be able to fill in the pages and return the notepads to their patients.
Information materials
The multimedia element of this campaign comprises a radio advert in Luxembourgish, web banners, adverts in the written press, a poster, and an information brochure in French, German, English and Portuguese.
The aim of this campaign is to remind patients of the importance of using antibiotics properly and to remind prescribing doctors to use antibiotic prescriptions appropriately.
All these materials can be downloaded from the 'Learn more' box below.
