This Health Portal is published by the Ministry of Health for the benefit of citizens living in Luxembourg, and healthcare professionals who practise – or wish to practise – in Luxembourg.
Background
The Health Portal is an initiative undertaken by the Ministry of Health within the framework of the government's 'e-Luxembourg' electronic governance programme. It is also part of the e-Health development policy, which aims to provide citizens and professionals with online information and services in the areas of health and social welfare.
Purpose
The Health Portal offers citizens and professionals privileged and unique access to a wealth of useful information in the area of health. It aims to support citizens in their efforts to safeguard their health and prevent disease, and to encourage everyone to take ownership for their own health.
Benefits for citizens and professionals
Useful health-related information is available on the Health Portal, including:
- tips on exercise, diet, alcohol, smoking, vaccination, travel, etc.;
- downloadable documents that are specific to the healthcare sector, such as forms, agreements and publications;
- a 'health calendar', with information on symposiums, conferences, training courses, and other health-related events;
- news from the healthcare sector.

Particular care is taken to ensure an appropriate level of quality and accessibility.
This website was developed based on the recommendations set out in the Renow standard, i.e. the web standard promoted by the government of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
