Workshop on vector-borne diseases
As part of the PHRESH project, a workshop on vector-borne diseases was held at the Centre Hospitalier de Luxembourg (CHL) on 14 May 2025. The aim was to raise awareness among doctors and health professionals about emerging diseases in Luxembourg and across Europe.
Discussions focused on:
- the role of entomological data in predicting and preventing diseases.
- the current epidemiological situation in Luxembourg and national surveillance strategies.
- an overview of emerging vector-borne diseases in Europe.
- laboratory diagnostics: interpretation, limitations, and practical use.
- the central role of interdisciplinary collaboration in surveillance.
During the coffee break, participants were able to discover ongoing projects from partner organizations through information stands. The day ended with a friendly dinner reception, encouraging informal exchanges.
