The Superior Council of Infectious Diseases (Conseil supérieur des maladies infectieuses - CSMI) recommends that Shingrix® (an adjuvanted recombinant vaccine) be used for vaccination against shingles, to prevent the appearance of shingles rash, nerve pain and other post-infection complications: - For adults aged 65 years and over: vaccination with two doses administered by intramuscular injection two to six months apart. - For adults aged 18+ whose immune system is or is expected to be compromised due to a disease or medication: vaccination with two doses administered by intramuscular injection one to two months apart.
