The Superior Council of Infectious Diseases (Conseil supérieur des maladies infectieuses – formerly the Conseil supérieur d’hygiène) – recommends that vaccination against tick-borne encephalitis should be limited to adults and children aged 6 years and over who spend the tick season in central European countries where ticks are endemic. Vaccination is not necessary for people who are not exposed to the virus. In addition to these recommendations, this document contains information on the following topics: symptoms, epidemiological data, vaccination, available vaccines, and the vaccination schedule.
