Third-party payment system

The Social Third-Party Payment (TPS) is a scheme designed to facilitate access to medical and dental care for people experiencing financial difficulties. Thanks to this system, beneficiaries no longer have to pay medical expenses up front, as the National Health Fund (CNS) covers the costs of the services concerned directly.

Membership of the health and maternity insurance scheme is a mandatory requirement for benefiting from the TPS.

This scheme is available on request from the social services office in your municipality of residence. The TPS is granted for a limited period, generally between 3 and 6 months, and is renewable under certain conditions.

To take advantage of the scheme, beneficiaries are given a booklet of labels and a personalised certificate to guarantee direct payment. Some services may require additional validation from the social services office.
