Supervising and protecting
In the early stages of a child's life, parents of infants and young children are responsible for:
- supervising their children and remaining vigilant,
- eliminating certain dangers,
- ensuring safety in the home.
Guiding and educating
As the child gets older, parents must:
- guide their child,
- set a good example,
- teach the child to recognise, assess and avoid dangers,
- teach the child to manage risks,
- explain dangers in clear and appropriate language.
