What is it?
A device that simulates the act of smoking.
Risks
Addiction
- Like other nicotine substitutes, they contain nicotine, so there is a risk of addiction, especially if used beyond the recommended duration.
Local irritation
- Sore throat, coughing, mouth tingling or dryness are fairly common side effects.
- Irritation of the lips or mouth, especially with prolonged or incorrect use.
Effects related to nicotine
- In case of misuse (too frequent or too high a dose):
- Palpitations
- Nausea
- Headaches
- Anxiety, insomnia
- Dizziness
Incorrect use
- Inhalers should not be inhaled like a cigarette; nicotine is absorbed mainly through the oral mucosa, not through the lungs.
- Incorrect technique may render the product ineffective or uncomfortable to use.
Contraindications
- Use with caution in people at cardiovascular risk, pregnant or breastfeeding women, unless recommended by a doctor.
- Not recommended for non-smokers or young people.
