Support for elderly and vulnerable people

During periods of extreme heat, elderly and vulnerable individuals are particularly at risk. To protect them, a dedicated support system has been put in place as part of the Heatwave Plan (“Plan Canicule”.

What is it?

At-risk individuals who do not already receive regular support can register on a list. In the event of a heatwave alert, they will receive home visits from care and support services. These visits aim to check their health condition, ensure proper hydration, and provide assistance where needed.

Eligibility criteria:

• Be at least 75 years old
• Live alone or with a person who has limited mobility or is dependent
• Have reduced autonomy
• Not receive long-term care insurance support

Why register?

This service ensures regular monitoring of the most vulnerable individuals during heatwaves, helps prevent health risks, and allows for rapid intervention when needed.

We also encourage relatives, neighbours and healthcare professionals to inform and support those concerned in this process.
