Heart attack

Symptoms: crushing chest pain (like a vice tightening), radiating to the arm and/or jaw, sweating, nausea, shortness of breath lasting more than 15 minutes → Call 112 immediately!

Consequences: irreversible heart damage, heart failure or sudden death.

Stroke (Cerebrovascular Accident)

Around 400 cases per year in Luxembourg, resulting in nearly 300 deaths.

Symptoms (FAST):

• Face (face) drooping (one side of the face sagging),
• Arms (arms) weak (weakness in one or both arms),
• Speech (speech) difficulties (difficulty speaking),
• Time (time): dizziness, sudden headaches.

Consequences: paralysis, speech disorders, permanent disability (the leading cause of disability in adults).
