Routine testing, screening and check-ups
Preschool and primary school children undergo routine testing, screening and check-ups every year.
In secondary education (general and technical), testing and screening are only carried out during routine health check-ups and medical examinations.
Routine testing, screening and check-ups include:
- measuring height and weight;
- eyesight and hearing tests;
- a urine glucose, albumin and blood test;
- a vaccination check-up.
Pupils are no longer routinely tested for tuberculosis.
Tuberculosis testing has been replaced by screening and enhanced monitoring if tuberculosis is found in a school.
