Med Safety Week 2025

MedSafetyWeek 2025 campaign – from 3 to 9 November 2025, join us for a week of awareness-raising on better pharmacovigilance

‘We all have the power to improve medicine safety’

The Pharmacovigilance (PhV) Service of the Pharmacy and Medicines Division is pleased to announce Luxembourg's fifth participation in the global #MedSafetyWeek campaign, organised each year by the Uppsala Monitoring Centre (UMC), a WHO collaborating centre dedicated to drug safety worldwide.

The 2025 edition marks the 10th anniversary of this international initiative and will take place from 3 to 9 November.

The key message of the 2025 edition is clear:

We all have the power to make medicines safer

This message reminds us that everyone – patients, their families and friends, healthcare professionals and institutions – has an essential role to play in pharmacovigilance. By encouraging the reporting of adverse effects and promoting a ‘pharmacovigilance culture’, we can all contribute to safer medicine use.

As part of this initiative, the PhV department is stepping up its efforts to raise awareness of the proper use of medicines and is providing various communication and training tools:

  • a poster,
  • an information sheet entitled ‘You are experiencing an adverse drug reaction: how should you respond?’,
  • business cards with a link to the adverse reaction reporting form,
  • badges for participating healthcare professionals,
  • as well as animations adapted into different languages and shared on social media (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram).

These documents are available below.

Join us for this awareness week and contribute to better pharmacovigilance as an Ambassador for Medication Safety!
