'I love my Hausdokter': the important role of GPs and paediatricians in the Luxembourg health system.
The Ministry of Health and Social Security is launching the 'I love my Hausdokter' (I love my GP) campaign, an initiative aimed at promoting the role of GPs in the Luxembourg health system. More specifically, the campaign seeks to encourage citizens to use their GP or paediatrician as their first port of call for their everyday health needs. Instead of rushing straight to the nearest hospital's Emergency Department for non-emergencies, patients will receive personalised care, while at the same time reducing the burden on the emergency services.
Adopt the right habits!
- Contact your GP or paediatrician first in the event of an illness requiring medical attention.
- Contact the emergency services only for potentially serious conditions requiring immediate attention.
