Conferences on endometriosis and the menopause

To mark Women’s Health Week, which takes place from 1 to 7 June, the Ministry of Health and Social Security is organising two conferences focusing on key women’s health issues: endometriosis and the menopause.

These events aim to inform, raise awareness and encourage dialogue between experts, healthcare professionals and the general public.

Throughout the day, information stands on women’s health will be available, allowing participants to meet key players in the sector and obtain practical advice. Among the exhibitors, you will find:

Conference: ‘Endometriosis: understanding better to manage better (LU/FR)’

Endometriosis affects many women and is still too often misunderstood or diagnosed late. This conference aims to provide a better understanding of the condition, its symptoms, its impact on daily life, and the treatment options available.

Official opening by Martine Deprez, Minister for Health and Social Security
Presentation of the new recommendation from the Scientific Council for Health on the management of endometriosis, by Dr Marc Stieber, specialist in obstetrics and gynaecology
A round-table discussion bringing together various stakeholders to share expertise, perspectives and experiences, including:
- Dr Juliana D’Alimonte, psychiatrist and Deputy Director of the Directorate of Health (DISA)
- Dr Claire Krause, GP
- Dr Marc Stieber, obstetrician-gynaecologist and board member of the Luxembourg Society of Gynaecology and Obstetrics (SLGO)
- Annabelle Laborier-Saffran, Dudelange’s gender equality officer and a sufferer of endometriosis

Conference: ‘Breaking the silence surrounding the myths and consequences of the menopause (LU/FR)’

The menopause is a natural stage of life, but it remains shrouded in numerous taboos. This conference aims to challenge common misconceptions, provide a better understanding of the associated health issues, and highlight the solutions available to support women.

- Dr Susanne Folschette-Tomaszewski, general practitioner specialising in menopause medicine and President of Lëtz Menopause asbl
- Dr Marie-France Olieric, Head of Department and Head of the Gynaecology and Obstetrics Unit at the Metz-Thionville Regional Hospital
- Diane Elsen, menopause coach and Vice-President of Lëtz Menopause asbl
